Muriel BOULEN CHANGES IN THE PLANT LANDSCAPE OF THE MARNE-LA-VALLÉE (SEINE-ET-MARNE) PLATEAU FROM THE IRON AGE TO THE MODERN ERA: naturalist and economic approaches

Abstract

As part of a collective research programme, environmental analysis data was compiled from all archaeological operations carried out on the Marne-la-Vallée plateau over more than 20 years from 1991 to 2013. A synthesis of archaeobotanical data has been used to suggest changes in the plant landscape since the Iron Age and to highlight the area’s specificity, particularly the importance of woodland cover.
